Chrysocolla is a copper stone, ranging from light green to deep blue, and is often found in association with Malachite and Azurite.
The name comes from the Ancient Greek chrysos kolla meaning “gold glue”, the name of a material used to solder gold in 300 BCE. Native Americans have long used chrysocolla as a healing stone to sooth emotions and strengthen the body’s natural resistance. Folklore says that Cleopatra carried chrysocolla with her, believing that it would calm violent people.
